A few of the efforts I've led: platform-scale engineering organizations, internal tooling that spread past its own team, and applied AI for compliance. All three case studies are live.
Case study 01
Leading BNPL platform engineering at PayPal
Led the engineering organization behind PayPal's Buy-Now-Pay-Later platform, a credit business processing roughly $40B in annual volume across multiple international markets. Set technical direction and org structure for a team of full-stack engineers, balancing reliability and risk controls against the velocity a fast-growing credit product demands.
~$40B annual platform volume · $180M incremental TPV from led initiatives
Case study 02
The simplification layer that shipped a rewrite's outcome without the rewrite
Owned how the credit domain would position itself in a ground-up rewrite of PayPal's checkout, on an aggressive next-quarter deadline in a system that sits on top of payments. When the two options on the table were both wrong, I found a third: a deliberate, throwaway simplification layer over the legacy system that forced every business case into the open before we touched the new architecture. It shipped on deadline with full credit parity from day one.
Shipped on the go-to-market deadline · the pattern replicated by other domains
Case study 03
An LLM-driven PII scanner
Directed the design and delivery of an internal scanner that uses an LLM to flag personally identifiable information in code and logs before it ships, catching a class of privacy risk that pattern-matching tools miss. Built for CI integration with low false-positive overhead.
Integrated into CI/CD pipelines as a standing compliance control
